Welcome to Butler's
Reading Corner!

Are You In Butler's StAR Club?
Students that reach 25 AR points are entered in the Butler StAR Club.  They get a star with their name placed in the hallway by the library for everyone to see!  There are different colored stars for each point level:  yellow=25 points, blue=50 points, bronze=100 points, silver=250 points, and gold=500 points.  As of April 18, we have 1 student that has a gold star, 10 students that have silver stars, 49 students that have bronze stars, 160 students that have blue stars, and 207 students that have yellow stars!!!!  WOW!!!

Congratulations to our very first Gold Star Club Member, Gregory Garlisch!  Gregory, a third grader from Ms. Keenan's class, became the first 500 Point Club member on March 31 after earning over 500 AR points this year.  In order to reach this goal, Gregory read 68 books this school year!  Way to go, Gregory!

                                        Read the Most Challenge
On Friday, February 28, 2014, many of our students rose to the Read the Most from Coast to Coast challenge by reading a whopping 894 books!  That equates to 6,003,895 words!  That is pretty impressive considering Friday February 28 was an early release day for our students!  Imagine what they could do with a full day of school!!!  Great job Butler Bears!
